Centre for integrative and complementary medicine (CEMIC)

A pioneering project

The CEMIC (Centre for Integrative and Complementary Medicine) was created following a decision by the CHUV Directorate General on 1 July 2015.

This project, which is the first of its kind in Switzerland, meets the needs of part of the population, and provides a structure for this type of offer at CHUV.

The CEMIC is responsible for:

  • providing reliable information about complementary medicine for healthcare professionals;

  • setting up a CHUV/PMU clinical coordination network, consisting of “complementary medicine and healthcare” informants, which are appointed by each CHUV department's Directorate.

  • creating a register of therapists practising complementary medicine at/within the CHUV/PMU.

Its role is not to offer clinical advice or consultations thus.

For whom is it intended?

The CEMIC is the centre of expertise for CHUV and PMU professionals.

The CEMIC within the UES

The CEMIC is part of the IUMSP Healthcare Evaluation Unit (UES), for the “research and teaching” partIt is attached to the PMU for the “clinical services” part.
