Library A. Cochrane


The library A. Cochrane, named after a famous Scottish physician and epidemiologist, specialises in the field of public health.
It is managed by the IUMSP’s Unit for Public Health Documentation and Data Management (uDDSP).
Targeting primarily researchers from the IUMSP and the CHUV, it is also open to the public interested in borrowing or consulting public health publication.

Our collection focusses on the IUMSP’s areas of specialisation: 

  • epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases
  • health services organisation and functioning
  • quantitative and qualitative methods

Cancers and cardio-metabolic diseases, population ageing, and healthcare evaluation are well-documented themes within our documentary collection. 

Our collection

The library A. Cochrane’s collection has a wealth of more than 6000 documents, comprising monographs (books), reports, theses, periodicals (paper and electronic). 
Only publications dating from 2001 onwards are to be found on the library’s shelves. Moreover, the document you are looking for may not be there because it already borrowed.
Do not hesitate to browse the online catalogue (Renouvaud) and contact our librarians to check the availability of the publications you are interested in.

There is reception area, where you can ask for information and browse various books comfortably. Do not hesitate to settle in the settee or the Fatboy! Information brochures, magazines, and scientific publications are also available, as well as a digital tablet providing access to several daily and weekly newspapers.

You may also access a workspace for meetings that are non-confidential and not too animated (the uDDSP collaborators work in the same room!).
