Research on the human being: Swissethics new requirements

Swissethics, the Swiss Ethics Committees on research involving humans, has set new qualification requirements for investigators and investigators-promoters of clinical trials - Ordinance on clinical trials (OClin), Article 6. 

Indeed, since 2016, a certificate of participation in a course "Research ethics - GCP" recognized by Swissethics is required by the Swiss ethics commissions within any new research project submission under the OClin.

The list of all recognized courses, including their validity, is available on the http://www.swissethics.ch/fortbildung_f.html website. No equivalence will be granted anymore.

The Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) organise trainings accredited by the Swiss Ethics Commissions and meeting the legal and regulatory requirements (5, 6 and 7 September 2016). Bernard Burnand, head of the Healthcare evaluation unit (UES) IUMSP, is responsible for these trainings.
