Loan

Our collection contains more than 6'000 monographs (books), reports, theses, periodicals, directories and other documents relevant to public health. They are indexed in the online Renouvaud catalogue.  How to use this catalogue? Read the tip to finding a publication and knowing whether it is featured in the IUMSP’s collection.

Obtaining a library card

To be able to borrow our documents, you must own a library card. Terms and conditions for registration, and online pre-registration form.

After filling out the pre-registration form, please come to the library to validate the registration and receive your library card.

The preregistration must be confirmed within 30 days, upon production of a valid ID document featuring a photograph, at one of the network’s libraries.

With this card, you receive a password to access your Renouvaud account. It enables you to check the status of the documents you have borrowed as well as the expiry date of their loan, your requests and ongoing reservations; you can also extend the duration of a loan, and update your personal data. If you require assistance, please contact the library’s staff.

Locating a document

You can locate a book by means of the thematic division (at the top of the shelves) and the classification code. Most of the book dated before the year 2000 are to be found in the compactus (reserved access).

Browse the Renouveaud catalogue to access the entire IUMSP collection. You can thus check whether the document you require is on shelf, already on loan, or if it is in the compactus. Please ask the library staff for further information.

Loan duration

You may borrow documents for 28 days, renewable.
Books must be borrowed on site, they will not be sent.
Persons who do not wish to come to the IUMSP may use the BCU desk and order the document from the IUMSP collection by means of an inter-library loan. The document will then be delivered for them at the BCU desk.

IUMSP collaborators benefit from other loan conditions, they may log in the IUMSP’s website to access the information aimed for them.

Returns

You may leave the document in the dedicated space, located on the right upon entering the library by the door on the right of the lifts.

On-site consultation

Please note that some documents may not be borrowed: directories, newspapers, dictionaries, etc. This is stated in the catalogue. In case of doubt, please ask the library staff.
