Release of the report « Non-exclusively heterosexual youths : more exposed populations? »

The IUMSP’s (CEESAN) report on sexual orientation and risks of violence in youths has just been released.

A population survey on youth victimisation and delinquency in the canton of Vaud has been carried out, commissioned by the Training, youth and culture department (Département de la formation, de la jeunesse et de la culture - DFJC) in 2014. At the same time, a survey was carried out in the canton of Zurich. The two cantonal studies’ methodologies were harmonised in order to be comparable. In each canton, approximately 2'500 pupils answered the same questionnaire.

It concludes that youths with a non-exclusively heterosexual orientation are more strongly exposed to various forms of violence and bullying.
