Dr Gonseth Nusslé graduated in medicine from the Lausanne University (UNIL) in 2006. From 2007 to 2011, as part of her postgraduate specialization in Prevention and Public Health, she worked in the Department of Ambulatory Care and Community Medicine in Lausanne in general internal medicine and tobacco smoking research. She obtained her Medical Doctorate from UNIL in 2011 for a study on the tobacco industry’s internal papers, under the direction of Prof. Jacques Cornuz. In 2011, she joined the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine in Lausanne (IUMSP), under the guidance of Prof. Fred Paccaud. She conducted public health practices studies, e.g. an evaluation of public health intervention and a study on the health care workforce. In 2013 and then 2015, she obtained grants from the Swiss Cancer League and the Swiss National Science Foundation to study epigenetic epidemiology in the University of California, San Francisco and Berkeley, under the advisory of Prof. Joseph Wiemels. She specialized in the study of the epigenetics of prenatal environmental exposures (e.g. tobacco smoking and food intake). She obtained her Master in Science in public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2017. Since 2017, she joined the Division of Chronic Diseases of the IUMSP under the advisory of Prof. Murielle Bochud to implement and perform research on population-based epidemiological studies, such as the Swiss Kidney Project on Genes and Hypertension study and the Swiss Human Biomonitoring project.
