Lifecourse biological pathways underlying social differences in healthy ageing

The LIFEPATH project ( examines determinants of ageing pathways. It integrates social sciences with biology (including molecular epidemiology) using existing population cohorts with omics measurements (particularly epigenomics). The project examines mechanisms through which healthy ageing pathways diverge according to SES categories and the effect of the current economic recession on health and biology of ageing. Data from different countries are used as well as population registry data, including cohorts with repeat exams (n >33,000) and large cohorts with biological samples (n >200,000).
