Genetics of membrane transporters (NCCR Transcure)

TransCure involves researchers in Switzerland (directors: H Abriel; deputy dir: JL Reymond), including at dMC (M Bochud [PI], JP Ghobril, and C. Carmeli). The project examines transporter/channel targets in a broad context and identifies opportunities to link basic scientific achievements to future translational applications. Using several population-based cohorts, including SKIPOGH and publicly available databases, researchers analyze common variants in genes of specific interest to NCCR (National Centres of Competence in Research) TransCure and associations of these variants with human pathophysiological traits. The wealth of phenotypic information available makes the associations with genetic variants a promising approach to identify options for future translational applications.
