Prospective cohort study on skin cancer and residential radon exposure

Radon levels may contribute to skin cancer rates. Using the Swiss National Cohort (SNC), we conduct a population-based study aimed at updating models to residential indoor radon concentrations and UV exposure and investigating the relationship between skin cancer and radon exposure. We use the Swiss Radon Database and data from cancer registries. We will also evaluate a case-only approach, which is an appealing design for cancer registries. This study will enable a better understanding of the role of radon exposure as a (modifiable) risk factor.
